Oh man, I wish I had the exact quote in front of me. On last nights Grand Ole Opry night at American Idol, Kara Dioguardi said to Kris Allen, who had just sang "To Make You feel my Love"--and I am paraphrasing here "that didn't even sound like OPRYLAND to me, i didn't even know it was country, it was just beautiful" What in the HELL did that mean????? Honestly, country night always separates the 'one note' singers from the great singers and the Idols almost always fall short because good country is REALLY hard to sing. But the judges? They have no excuse. I think on country night they should use stand-in judges who know at least the basics of and give a rats azz about country music. And for crying out loud--STOP calling it Country-Western.
