Oh man, I wish I had the exact quote in front of me. On last nights Grand Ole Opry night at American Idol, Kara Dioguardi said to Kris Allen, who had just sang "To Make You feel my Love"--and I am paraphrasing here "that didn't even sound like OPRYLAND to me, i didn't even know it was country, it was just beautiful" What in the HELL did that mean????? Honestly, country night always separates the 'one note' singers from the great singers and the Idols almost always fall short because good country is REALLY hard to sing. But the judges? They have no excuse. I think on country night they should use stand-in judges who know at least the basics of and give a rats azz about country music. And for crying out loud--STOP calling it Country-Western.

Alison Krause

Ok, so let me drop a name here for a minute---about two years ago I was having this conversation with Alison Krause....no, I really was. (there's a photo in the photo gallery of thebigtimeonline.com) And I told her how beautiful her skin was. Alison is SO shy and SO humble and so self deprecating ---and she insisted that it really wasn't. I kept thinking about that when she was picking up the grammys on Sunday night. Her skin is so beautiful it's like she's lit from the inside. Oh, and the singing---she's got that down too.

Ok, I have now officially joined the human online race.
I'm about the 16th trillion person to have a blog.
Now I just have to figure out something to say----

Listen, I'm not just just doing it for me (unless no one reads it), so tell me
what you want to know about me or even about Jackie and Tasha!! (tee hee)

If I don't hear from ya, then I'm just going to write about wierd stuff---like why
my house has been wrapped in plastic for almost three weeks now. Ok, not wrapped,
but all the windows are sealed shut with plastic. I need some fresh air--maybe that's why
I can't think of anything to say. I blame it on oxygen deprivation.

Oh, and I need some sleep. I'll see if I can dream somethin' up.
